Ft. Pierce and the Boat

HIM: Last weekend was great. I met up with Chris, Jason, Jon, and David for a little trip south to Ft. Pierce. Chris chartered a fishing boat and we spent the night on it. The next day, we awoke to the sound of the Captain (Jay) revving up the engine and taking us out to sea. After 15 minutes of trying to sleep, I crawled out of bed to meet with Jason and the Captain up top. Once we were at a depth of about 300 feet, we each caught some fish. The fish weren't biting, so our return trip was laden with only 6 or 7 fishies of the tuna, dolphin (mahi mahi), and barracuda variety. The First Mate (Ron) filleted a few for us to have for dinner and the Captain fried them up. With full bellies, reddened skin, and droopy eyelids, we drove home quite contented that evening.

Zoo Last Month

HIM: Last month was a busy one. We barely found time to get settled in after returning from Peru, before classes started for me and Vanessa began working full-time for Bistro Aix. Since none of us had been to the Jacksonville Zoo yet, we met one nice (if chilly) day and visited the animals. We had a great time. =)

Dining Club

HIM: From time to time a group of aspiring culinary artists meets. It began early on in the first semester of law school, but has become a tradition lasting through the second as well. Because there just isn't enough room for our whole law school class, it has remained basically the same people since its humble start. The dinner is a simple and small affair, and we rotate from person to person for the hosting duties. In general, everyone contributes a main dish, side, or appetizer. The last one we had was at Jon's house and it had a picnic theme (burgers, dogs, etc.). The time before that was at our house. As you can see from the pictures, there is no way we would have table-top space for everyone, so we floored it.

Born late...

HER: For the ones who know me, I am running late most of the time. I thought it was a Peruvian thing... running late, half an hour to an hour late most of the time.

Trying to improve this bad habit I reset the times around me, setting the clocks and watches 20 to 30 minutes ahead to avoid the delay.

When I met Frank, I couldn't believed it! He was like I was...!!!! We have the tendency to be late all the time. I apologize it isn't on purpose I just don't know where the time goes? We are trying to improve that!

Recently, I met Shelly (Stefan's wife), who was visiting for the month... and it is the story of our lives, LATE FOR EVERYTHING!!! ALL THE TIME!!, the last couple of times we have missed what was planned , opting for the next best thing to do...

My question is.... are there more people like us out there? or it is some sort of alien force that makes gravity lose track of time??

Regardless, I have enjoyed Shelly's visit to Jacksonville. Until next time! take care and see you soon!

HIM: So, Vanessa has been quite diligent in documenting our activities over the last few weeks. I have been notably preoccupied with other endeavors. Like today, I only pause to state how much fun the family had, where I boarded myself up in the house for the purpose of familiarizing myself with our Lawyering Process homework. As you can see from the picture, the entrance to my secret underground lair/law research den is not very welcoming. Just the same, I hope to emerge sometime soon... Soon... Yes... Very soon...

Rainy Tuesday Night!

HER: Tuesday night, wine tasting night at a local cafe in San Marco Blvd. Shelley (married to one of Frank's classmates) and Roxie (one of Frank's classmates) decided to join in this wet adventure.
Pouring rain, arriving 30 minutes late, we decided to make a wine tasting of our own. Enjoyed a glass of wine there, but disappointed of the stock of their wine selection we moved to Bistro Aix.... Spoiled by some appetizers and girl talk. We turned the rain into a fun time.

For some reason, there are no pictures recorded of this night.
Hope you girls had a good time!

But All I can say is that I had such a great time

Friday Night...

HER: Last night, while the sun was still out, we decided to go for dinner to St. Augustine. Riding with the top down, singing at heart to Dave Matthew's band songs
We arrived to this beautiful nice little restaurant called, O.C Whites, We sat outside and decided to enjoy the lights and the scenario, surrounded by torches to keep us warm, listening to some guitar songs, meal was tasty, the company FANTASTIC, What a great night..

Valentine's day...

HER: For the first time since I remember, I was off on Valentine's day - night!
The day before, I had gone to the store to pick up some groceries and Valentine's cards for Sebastian to take to school for a party. I found myself in a store full of people doing their last minute shopping for their loved ones.

Then Sebastian ask me who Cupid was... I didn't really know what to answer, distracted by my surroundings and wanting to leave the store ASAP for various reasons, I said.. "Well, he is a big guy with a big heart who wears a big diaper and shoots love everywhere" Fair enough he replied... "But MOM, I don't want to be shot by the giant Baby". Don't worry son, Let's just hurry and leave this store... I love you...

Woke up early that morning to finish baking some cookies for Frank's classmates, I found a coffee mug on the counter, written all around it, and a heart shaped note book with messages on every page. First one.. you are such a Goober.. But I love you.. I smiled and thought.. YAY! He loves me...

Work was busy, when I got home I found balloons with written messages and drawings all around the railing, with candles on every staircase and heart shaped soaps with messages... grinned, he is so romantic.. a couple of e-cards and txt messages... He is everywhere!!
After his classes, we met for dinner and some of our favorite wine, Moscato D'Asti.
At home, Sebastian had gotten into the chocolate covered strawberries. I wanted to see what they tasted like...

Hope you all had a great day! I did!

HIM: In honor of the day's events, I offer to you a little Valentine's Day video (that is totally unrelated to Vanessa and I...). We had a great time. Hope you did too.

Iced Saturday...

-
HER: Last weekend some of us dared ourselves to put on ice skates and have some fun on the ice. It was a great time. Here a few pictures of some of us. Tierney and Jeremiah apparently hide during the snap shots ;).
